Occasionally, we come across an incredible nonprofit enterprise that just knocks our socks off.  In these moments, and with an intent to share these special programs and organizations with others across the country, we seek to affiliate with them to broaden their scope and impact to other communities of interest. Here are the best of the best:

Safer America For All Inc                     

Safer America for All, Inc (SAFA) is a national, virtual clearinghouse model focused on relevant, innovative and timely new ways to connect stakeholders in school districts to each other, while facilitating access to resources regarding gun violence and school safety. Stakeholders may include administrators and other school staff; school resource officers; students; parents; gun violence and  school safety researchers, organizations and training providers. The resources provided will focus on evidence-based programs, organizations, best practices, threat assessments and various school safe technologies that are available for school communities to utilize and implement into their school safety efforts. Additionally, SAFA has identified best fundraising practices in order to assist school districts in raising funds for existing school safe technology, training and equipment. SAFA acts as a national model for gun violence and school safety through providing new ways to connect, share and collaborate on mutually beneficial opportunities.
The SAFA platform features school safety and threat assessment trainings through interactive, multi-media videos and webinars. In order to ensure successful comprehension of the training, SAFA-SSC has developed online assessments using “Accelerated Learning”, a state-of-the-art training methodology that measures the participant’s comprehension and knowledge of the content. As defined and integrated into this platform, accelerated learning is the reduction of learner time required to meet learning objectives in a training event. Through engaging learners, the accelerated learning process improves usability and increases human performance. (


In an exciting collaboration, the Institute is partnering with the S.A.F.E. (Sports Are For Everyone) organization to bring these widely-acclaimed sports and recreation programs for children with special needs to communities all across America.  The endeavor builds off of twenty-five years of experiences in the southern Saratoga County area of New York, and features the leadership and expertise of Mr. James Fitzgerald, the founder of S.A.F.E. The endeavor seeks to build from its laudable mission that children of all ages should be able to enjoy the joy and satisfaction of athletic challenges and competitions regardless of their personal capacities. Through the systematic introduction and implementation of adapted sports programming, wholly embracing the philosophy that these programs necessarily require a commitment to all the physical, emotional, and social aspects of personal and collective interactions, S.A.F.E. is committed to the efficient and effective integration of these sports and recreation programs in a highly affordable model.  In fact, our engagements include a comprehensive fundraising component to ensure start-up, operational, and endowment funding. All sports programming developed incorporates necessary accommodations and adaptations to ensure full enjoyment and success for each athlete dependent upon their individual needs and skills.
